To register for My.SSS you need an SS number. Then, on the SSS website, click Login to My.SSS, Create Now and Member, prove who you are with one of SSS’s registration preferences, fill in your details, and open the registration link SSS emails you within five working days (2026 SSS Citizen’s Charter). My.SSS is where you generate payment reference numbers, check your contributions and file claims, so OFWs need it to pay from abroad.
Who can register, and the two routes
You need an SS number first. If you do not have one yet, see getting an SS number. Never apply for a second number: SSS’s OFW page says the SS number “is a unique lifetime number”.
SSS describes two routes, and does not explain the difference between them:
- Straight after getting a new SS number online. SSS’s membership page says you get a My.SSS activation link by email. “The link to create a My.SSS account will only be valid for 30 calendar days.” If it expires, register with the transaction number on your E-1 form.
- The standard registration. The 2026 Citizen’s Charter lists self-employed, voluntary and OFW members “with an SS number, at least one posted contribution, and has date of coverage” as the members who may register this way.
What you need
On the My.SSS registration form, you first prove who you are with one registration preference:
- a savings account number registered with SSS (including a UMID ATM account)
- your UMID card, activated at an SSS terminal or with your mother’s maiden name on record
- an employer or household employer ID
- a payment reference number (PRN) that has already been paid
- the date of an SSS loan that still has a balance
- the transaction number on your E-1 or E-6 form, for SS numbers applied for from 10 December 2020
- the check number of any monthly pension
Then the form asks for:
- your SS number, mobile number and email address
- a preferred user ID and password
- your name and birth date
- a mailing address or a foreign address, with city, zip code and country
Step by step
From the 2026 SSS Citizen’s Charter:
- On the SSS website, click Login to My.SSS, then Create Now, then Member.
- Choose your registration preference and enter it.
- Fill in the account information, personal information and address. Review it, accept the Terms of Service and click Create Account.
- SSS sends a registration link by email:
- If the email you entered matches SSS’s records, the link goes to that email address.
- If it does not match, the link goes to the new email address you entered. Your mobile number does not change where the link goes.
- Open the link and finish setting up your account within five working days. After that the link expires and you must register again.
You can also create an account in the MySSS mobile app, on Android 9 and iOS 14 or later (SSS app page). SSS does not publish the app’s registration steps.
Registering from abroad
- Foreign address. The form accepts a foreign address, so you can register with your address abroad.
- Foreign mobile number. SSS publishes no rule on registering with a foreign mobile number. The registration form includes a one-time PIN step.
- Logging in. By default, SSS sends a six-digit PIN by SMS to “the member’s registered mobile numbers in the SSS records” each time you log in (SSS news, 13 November 2024). If SMS is unreliable abroad, you can set up a time-based one-time password with an authenticator app instead (SSS TOTP page).
- Updating your contact details. In My.SSS, use Update Contact Info in the Member Info menu to change your mobile number, email, mailing address or foreign address. SSS sends a confirmation link that you must confirm within three days, and the change takes effect after two days. Members with no mobile number on record have to submit it at a branch with the Member Data Change Request form (SSS news, 26 May 2022).
- From abroad, without My.SSS access: SSS Circular 2026-004 lets members abroad update their contact details by email to uci.ofwcss@sss.gov.ph, followed by a video call on MS Teams or Viber, or at an SSS foreign office with SS Form E-4.
Locked account and other problems
Locked account. SSS does not publish self-service unlock steps. The My.SSS screen says: “Your account has been locked. To help us resolve the issue, kindly get in touch with us and provide the necessary information.” SSS’s channels for OFWs (SSS OFW page) are:
- email ofw.relations@sss.gov.ph
- landlines (+632) 8364-7796, (+632) 8364-7798 and (+632) 8709-7198, local 1655 or 1656
- mobile: Globe +63 977 804-8668, Smart +63 998 847-4092
SSS’s website lists its general inquiries line as the SSS hotline 1455 and the email usssaptayo@sss.gov.ph.
Forgotten password. On the login page, click Forgot Password, then Member (2026 Citizen’s Charter). Choose one of:
- Multi-factor Authentication: enter your SS number, then a one-time PIN by SMS or a code from your authenticator app, and set a new password
- Security Questions: enter your SS number and answer your security questions
Lost access to your email. SSS’s 2022 password reset guide says to email onlineserviceassistance@sss.gov.ph from your new address, with your SS number, full name, birth date, and a copy of your SS or UMID card or two valid IDs with your photo and signature.
Keep it safe. SSS asks members to “refrain from sharing their login credentials and regularly change their passwords”, and to report fraud to fid@sss.gov.ph (SSS news, 6 May 2022). Never send your SS number, password or PIN to anyone who offers to register or file for you.
Once you are in, you can pay your contributions. You can also check your posted contributions.
