Talk this estimate through with usThe rate box starts at 7.12%, the rate Pag-IBIG Fund declared for 2025 on its MP2 page. Change it to see what a lower or higher year would do. Past rates do not promise future ones, so whatever you enter, the result is an estimate of what could happen, and Pag-IBIG’s own figure will differ.
How the estimate is worked out
Pag-IBIG has not published its exact dividend method on an official page, so this calculator uses an average-balance method of our own.
For each calendar year of the five-year term:
Dividend for the year = rate × (sum of the 12 month-end balances) ÷ 12
- Months before your first remittance or after the term ends count as zero, so a part year earns a part dividend.
- Compounded: each year’s dividend is added to your balance on 31 December, so the next year’s dividend is worked out on a bigger balance. Everything is paid at the end of the five years.
- Paid out every year: the dividend leaves the account each year, so the balance stays at what you put in.
A worked line: PHP 1,000 a month at 7.12%. By the end of year 1 the month-end balances are PHP 1,000, 2,000 and so on up to 12,000. They add up to PHP 78,000, and 78,000 ÷ 12 is an average of PHP 6,500. The year 1 dividend is 7.12% of PHP 6,500, which is PHP 462.80.
Assumptions and limits
- The same rate every year. In real life Pag-IBIG declares a new rate each year, after the year ends, and past rates do not predict future ones.
- Monthly savings are paid every month for 60 months, starting in the month you choose. A one-time amount goes in at the start.
- No early withdrawal and no rollover. Leaving early for reasons other than the grounds Pag-IBIG allows costs half of the returns earned, under Pag-IBIG’s Circular No. 487: see how to withdraw MP2 savings.
- If you claim before Pag-IBIG declares the rate for the year just ended, Circular No. 487 says the latest declared rate is used. For the last year, that is what the calculator does.
- MP2 dividends are tax-free under Sec. 19 of Republic Act No. 9679, so nothing is taken off for tax.
- Pag-IBIG’s own posting dates and rounding may differ from ours, so its figure can be a little different.
- MP2 needs at least PHP 500 per remittance, and your savings in all MP2 accounts together can’t pass PHP 20,000,000 (Circular No. 487). The calculator refuses amounts outside those limits.

Rates for 2019 and 2020 are left out because Pag-IBIG’s own pages don’t give them. For how the rate is set and when the next one comes out, see MP2 dividend rates.
