Pag-IBIG contributions in 2026: rates and the monthly fund salary

Last checked

Pag-IBIG contributions are worked out on a monthly fund salary of up to PHP 10,000, the Maximum Fund Salary since February 2024 (Pag-IBIG Circular No. 460, 15 January 2024). Members earning over PHP 1,500 pay 2% and their employer adds 2%, so the most required is PHP 200 each. Pag-IBIG’s Regular Savings page says OFW members pay PHP 200 a month, and self-employed members PHP 400, because they pay both shares. Anyone can pay more than the minimum. As of 20 October 2026, Pag-IBIG had not announced any change for 2026.

The contribution table

From Circular No. 460, for contributions from February 2024 onwards, for mandatory and voluntary members:

Monthly fund salary Member pays Employer pays
PHP 1,500 and below 1% 2%
Over PHP 1,500 2% 2%

Scroll the table sideways for more

The rates apply to a fund salary of up to PHP 10,000. Above that, the contribution stays at 2% of PHP 10,000. Pag-IBIG’s Regular Savings page adds that if a member earns less than PHP 10,000 in a month, both shares are 2% of what they actually earned (for incomes over PHP 1,500). A member with two or more employers contributes for each one, and each employer matches.

RA 9679 Sec. 7 lets Pag-IBIG’s Board change the maximum “from time to time”.

OFWs and voluntary members

  • Land-based OFWs pay PHP 200 a month, according to Pag-IBIG’s Regular Savings page. Circular No. 391 (2017) says an OFW whose employer is not covered pays 2% of monthly income, and that “Said employee may opt to pay the employer counterpart.” Its old PHP 5,000 cap was replaced by the PHP 10,000 cap in Circular No. 460.
  • Seafarers and other OFWs with Philippine employers have their PHP 200 matched by the employer, the Regular Savings page says. For seafarers, the manning agency acts as the employer together with the foreign shipowner (Circular No. 460).
  • Self-employed members pay both shares, PHP 400 a month at the cap.
  • Voluntary members, aged 18 to 65, pay at the same rates as everyone else. A non-working spouse pays on half of the working spouse’s fund salary and has no employer share.
  • Paying more. Circular No. 460: “Members may contribute more than what is required”. Employers only have to pay the required share unless they agree to match more.

When to pay. HDMF Circular No. 274 says self-employed and voluntary members pay by the 10th of the month after the month covered, or quarterly by the 10th of the first month of the quarter. Circular No. 391 asks land-based OFWs to pay three months at a time, by the 10th of the first month of the period. Pag-IBIG hasn’t said whether it still applies the OFW rule as written in 2026, so if you pay several months at a time, check in Virtual Pag-IBIG that each month shows.

A worked example

Using the Circular No. 460 rates:

Fund salary counted (capped)
PHP 10,000.00
Employee pays (2%)
PHP 200.00
Employer pays (2%)
PHP 200.00
Total going to Regular Savings
PHP 400.00

For someone earning PHP 1,200 a month, the employee pays 1% (PHP 12) and the employer 2% (PHP 24). A land-based OFW paying the PHP 200 minimum puts in PHP 2,400 a year.

Paying and checking

You can pay through Virtual Pag-IBIG, GCash, banks, payment centres and, from abroad, Pag-IBIG’s accredited remittance partners. See how to pay Pag-IBIG online. Your contributions and yearly dividends show in your Virtual Pag-IBIG account.

From about 21 February 2027, Pag-IBIG branches stop taking cash and checks, and every payment needs a Payment Reference Number (Circular No. 500).

What the contributions become

Your contributions build your Regular Savings, which earn a dividend each year. Pag-IBIG declared 6.62% for 2025; that is a past rate and does not promise the next one. You get the savings and dividends back as a provident claim when your membership matures after 20 years, when you retire or on other grounds: see the Pag-IBIG provident claim.

MP2 is a separate, voluntary savings account on top of this, from PHP 500 a payment. See MP2 savings explained. The rest of Pag-IBIG is on our Pag-IBIG guide for OFWs.
